Terms of Use

These terms explain how Corisse works and what we expect from everyone who uses it. Please read them with our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines and Safety at Corisse page.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Corisse. In these terms, “Corisse”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Corisse. “You” means the person using Corisse.

2. Who can use Corisse

  • You must be 18 or older. We check this with ID verification before you can be matched or join a live event.
  • Corisse is for single adults who want to meet someone, whatever they're looking for.
  • At launch, Corisse is available to people living in Greater Melbourne.
  • You can only have one account, and it must be yours.
  • You can’t use Corisse if we have previously removed you from the service.

3. Your account and signing in

You sign in with a 6-digit code that we email to you. There’s no password. Keep access to your email account secure, because anyone who can read your email could sign in as you. Tell us straight away at hello@corisse.com if you think someone else has used your account.

Please keep the information you give us accurate and up to date, including your age, photos and relationship status.

4. ID and liveness verification

Before you can be matched or attend a Corisse Live event, you’ll need to verify your identity with an ID document and a short liveness check (a selfie video that confirms you’re a real person and match your ID). This is done by our verification provider. We keep only the result (for example “verified, 18+”), the date, the provider’s name and a reference number. We never store your ID images or selfies ourselves.

5. Our services, and how we use AI

Corisse Matchmaking

You have a short conversation with our AI about who you are and what you’re looking for. We turn that into a structured profile. Our matching system, which uses both standard software and AI, then suggests introductions and explains why we think you might get on. Each introduction is a suggestion only: you and the other person each decide privately whether to meet, and we only reveal mutual interest.

Corisse Live

Corisse Live evenings are speed-dating events held over video. Our AI host, Cora, runs the evening: she welcomes you, explains how it works, keeps every date on time and closes the evening. Cora is an AI and always tells you so, and she never joins or listens to your private video dates. Your partners are chosen in advance by our software and, if you agree to AI matching, with help from AI. After each date you decide privately, and only mutual matches are revealed, the next morning. A person from Corisse opens each evening and is alerted the moment anything is reported. Video dates are never recorded.

Each mutual match can chat privately on Corisse for 48 hours after the results are revealed, so you can arrange to meet in person. The chat is text only (up to 1,000 characters a message) and must follow our acceptable use rules below. After 48 hours it becomes read-only for 7 days, and then the messages are deleted. You can report, block or unmatch at any time from the chat's “⋯” menu; blocking or unmatching ends the chat for both people. The AI never reads your chats.

Optional AI helpers

Cora (an AI) can suggest wording for “a few words about you” from your own notes and suggest conversation ideas for a mutual match. They are suggestions only: you choose, edit and send or save them yourself, and you are responsible for what you post and send. Profile text is checked (by rules, and by AI if you agreed to AI matching) before others can see it, and a person from Corisse may hold, approve or decline it.

Corisse facilitators

Trained Corisse facilitators may assist at evenings, for example by opening the doors and responding to reports. During an evening they may see guests' first names and live safety reports. They work under a confidentiality agreement and never see anyone's yes or no decisions.

Corisse AI Matchmaker (coming soon)

The AI Matchmaker isn't available yet. Joining the founding list is free, doesn't commit you to anything and doesn't reserve a price or a place in a queue. You can leave it at any time.

We can’t promise that you’ll find a partner, or that any particular person will want to meet you. AI can make mistakes, so please use your own judgement.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use Corisse to:

  • offer, request or advertise escort services, sexual services or paid companionship, or solicit anyone for any of these
  • promote a business, product, service, event or cause, or recruit people
  • harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone
  • post or send hate speech, or content that discriminates against people
  • share, or threaten to share, intimate images of anyone without their consent (non-consensual sharing of intimate images), or pressure anyone for intimate images
  • use sexual images or information to threaten, coerce or blackmail anyone (sexual extortion, also called sextortion)
  • groom children (try to build a relationship with a child, or with anyone, to sexually exploit a child), exploit anyone, or contact anyone under 18
  • commit or threaten sexual harm, or send sexual content to anyone who hasn't asked
  • scam people, ask for money, gifts, investments or cryptocurrency, or pretend to be someone else
  • record, screenshot or share video dates or other members’ messages or photos
  • break the law, or interfere with how Corisse works

Our Community Guidelines explain these rules in more detail. If we become aware that someone has broken them, we act in a timely way: see Safety at Corisse for how to report and what we do.

Protecting the Corisse platform

Corisse’s website, app, software, matching and pairing methods, AI host, scripts, designs and content belong to Corisse (or the people who licensed them to us) and are protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use Corisse for its intended purpose only. You must not, and must not help anyone else to:

  • scrape, crawl, harvest or collect any content or data from Corisse, including other members’ details, by any automated or manual means
  • use bots, scripts or other automated tools to access, sign in to, book or use Corisse, except through features we provide for that purpose
  • copy, reproduce, republish, sell or commercially use any part of Corisse, its content or its scripts
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or try to discover the source code, algorithms, prompts or matching methods behind Corisse, except where the law allows this despite these terms
  • probe, scan or test the security of Corisse, get around any security, rate limit or access control, or access any area, account or data that isn’t yours
  • overload, disrupt or interfere with Corisse, including by sending malicious code or an unreasonable volume of requests
  • build or train a competing product, service or AI model using Corisse or its content

If you think you have found a security problem, please tell us at hello@corisse.com rather than testing it further. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules (section 10).

7. Safety

We verify every member and moderate reports, but we can’t control how people behave, especially when you meet in person. Please read Safety at Corissebefore meeting anyone. Block and report tools are available on every profile, introduction, chat and live round.

8. Payments

Memberships aren’t on sale yet. Prices are in Australian dollars and we never add card surcharges. Corisse isn’t registered for GST, so no GST is included. We will never charge a fee or keep your money as a penalty for not turning up, not replying or cancelling. Our Subscriptions and Refunds & credits pages explain plans, cancellations and refunds.

9. Corisse Live tickets

Booking

  • You book every Corisse Live evening on corisse.com. You sign in, complete your profile, give consent and pass our ID and selfie check (18+) before you can pay. Payment is then taken by Eventbrite, our ticketing provider, using a private, single-use checkout code that only works for you. Tickets can’t be bought directly on Eventbrite.
  • One ticket per person. Please pay with the same email as your Corisse account.
  • If a ticket is bought some other way (for example with a different email), we’ll ask the buyer to finish their spot on corisse.com. Spots that aren’t finished 48 hours before the start can’t be included, and are refunded in full.

Prices

  • Our test evenings are A$49 + booking fee = A$52.81 total (early bird) or A$59 + booking fee = A$63.35 total (standard). Each event page shows that evening's price and total. Early-bird tickets are limited to 5 per side for each evening and end when they sell out or 7 days before the start, whichever comes first.
  • The booking fee is Eventbrite's, paid by the buyer at checkout. We always show the total including it.
  • Prices are the same for everyone. We balance evenings with seat limits, never price.

Changes, cancellations and no-shows

  • Cancel at least 48 hours before the start: a full refund through Eventbrite.
  • Cancel later than that: a ticket credit for a future evening (valid 12 months).
  • If you miss an evening without telling us, your bookings are paused for 30 days. After a second missed evening, we’ll ask for a quick chat before you book again. There are no fines, and we never keep money beyond the ticket itself.
  • Each evening is checked automatically 48 hours before it starts. If too few people can attend, we postpone it and email you straight away: you choose to move to our next evening for free (as a ticket credit) or a full refund. If you don’t choose before the evening was due to start, we refund you in full.
  • If we cancel an evening for any other reason, you get a full refund.

See Refunds & credits for details. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply.

First-match promise

Evenings marked with our First-match promise come with this promise: if you attend and get no mutual match, we’ll give you a ticket credit for a free ticket to a future evening. The credit is issued automatically with your results, is valid for 12 months, can be used once, and can’t be exchanged for money. Each person gets at most one credit per evening. The promise is extra to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, never instead of them.

On the night

  • Cora, our host, is an AI and always says so. A person from Corisse opens the evening and is alerted the moment anything is reported.
  • “Block” means you’ll never be paired with that person again and you won’t appear in each other’s results. They aren’t told.
  • For everyone’s safety we may pause an evening, or end it for someone who breaks these terms. Leaving an evening is always free.
  • Be kind, keep your camera on, use first names only and don’t share contact details during a date. Recording or screenshotting a date is not allowed.
  • “Leave & report” ends a date at once. We may remove anyone who breaks these terms or our Community Guidelines.

10. Suspending or removing accounts

If you break these terms or our Community Guidelines, or we reasonably believe you put others at risk, we may warn you, pause your account, remove content, or suspend or remove your account. Serious breaches can lead to a permanent ban, which stops that account and its email address from booking again, and you must not try to get around a ban with a new account. Where it’s safe and lawful to do so, we’ll tell you what happened and why.

Appeals: if you think we got it wrong, email hello@corisse.com within 30 days and explain why. Where possible, a person who wasn’t involved in the original decision will review it, and we’ll tell you the outcome.

You can stop using Corisse and close your account at any time, free of charge. Declining an introduction or a live match is always free too.

11. Your consumer rights

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees, or any other right you have under the law that can’t be excluded. Anything we offer on top, such as ticket credits or the First-match promise, is in addition to those rights.

12. Our responsibility to you

Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we aren’t responsible for the behaviour of other members, on or off Corisse, except to the extent our own negligence or breach of these terms contributed to it. We aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Corisse grows. If a change significantly affects you, we’ll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you don’t agree with a change, you can close your account before it applies, free of charge. A change never takes away anything you've already paid for: tickets you hold keep the terms they were bought under.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You and we agree that the courts of Victoria (and courts that can hear appeals from them) can decide any dispute.
